UN World Wildlife Day 2017: Listen to the Young Voices

Live Twitter Q&A

Almost 25% of the world’s population is aged between 10 and 24. Combined with the crawling pace at which we are combating species loss, this means that wildlife conservation is a responsibility that will inevitably be passed on to younger generations.

So, it makes sense that this year’s theme for the UN’s World Wildlife Day is “Listen to the Young Voices,” because if we are to continue to secure the futures of so many wild animals and plants we must engage and empower younger generations in conservation through innovation, discussion and action.

To achieve this and help facilitate the discussion and engagement of youth groups with active and experienced conservation groups, the GLF is hosting a live Twitter Q&A session on World Wildlife Day.

To get involved, simply follow the event hash tag, #ThinkLandscape, and follow our page, @GlobalLF. You can then engage with the questions and discussions by indicating the question you are referring to (ie. “Q1:…”) and using the appropriate hashtag and handles to reply or retweet.

If you are interested in joining the discussion as a panelist, or would simply like to get more details and an event reminder, please register here.
