Werner Kornexl

Werner Kornexl joined the World Bank in 2000 as a Private Sector Development Specialist in the Brazil Country Office where he worked on forest landscapes, climate change and renewable energy. Subsequently, Werner helped establish the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility, and then became the Environment Coordinator in Indonesia, where he led the preparation of a landscape approach for Indonesia’s land and forest sectors. Previously, Werner worked for the Brazilian Environmental Agency and several private companies engaged in the production of timber and non-timber forest products in the Brazilian Amazon. An Austrian national, Werner holds a Master of International Commerce (Vienna) and studied Environmental Economics at Fundacao Getulio Vargas (Sao Paulo).
